Yuko Torihara is an actress, filmmaker, photographer.  Born in Tokyo and raised in the UK, US and Japan, she is now based in in NYC.

She co-opened the New York office of Brazilian production house Santa Transmedia in 2013, producing artist led films and brand collaborations. 

Her hybrid short documentary Chinatown Beat about two Chinatown legends, writer Henry Chang and photographer Corky Lee was published in The New Yorker in 2021.  She is a 2022 Sundance Institute Humanities Sustainability Fellowship grantee. 

As an actress she is rooted in her sensitivity and versatility.  She trained with Carl Ford (Susan Batson Studio) and Anthony Abeson and currently works internationally in film, tv and on stage.

As a photographer/videographer she has worked with top artists including Rihanna, Telfar, Paul Haggis, Mark Rylance, Ryuichi Sakamoto.
