Yuko Torihara is a filmmaker, actress, photographer and writer born in Tokyo and based in NYC. She grew up traveling between Japan, US and the UK and storytelling has been a natural way to make sense of her constantly changing environment. She has a bachelors in Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Sundance Humanities Sustainability Fellow ‘22-’23 with her first feature film. Her documentary Chinatown Beat, featuring author Henry Chang and photographer Corky Lee was acquired by The New Yorker in 2021. She has a recurring role on Ryan Murphy’s show on Netflix “The Watcher” and has voiced and starred in national campaigns for brands including Starbucks, Citibank, Delta Airlines, Verizon.
