Tokyo-born NYC based filmmaker, photographer, actor. I grew up living between Japan, the UK and the US. Performance and storytelling have been natural ways for me to understand my constantly changing environment growing up. In 2012 I co-opened the New York office of the Brazilian production studio Santa Transmedia where I produced animation and artist-led brand collaboration films. I am a Sundance Humanities Fellow ‘22-23 with my first feature film. Directorial projects include narrative short Amaterasu, screened at New Filmmakers Anthologies Series in NYC, Tokyo Uplink and Torpedo Art Center, followed by another narrative short, New York Cabbage. My short documentary Chinatown Beat featuring writer Henry Chang and Corky Lee was acquired and published in The New Yorker in March, 2021. As an actor, I have a recurring role on Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series The Watcher, and have voiced and starred in national campaigns for brands including Starbucks, Citibank, Delta, Verizon.
